Painting Wood Can Dramatically Update a Room

It has been four years since Kristie Barnett, an expert in residential paint color, staging, and decoration, examined why men fear painting wood.

Since then, guys’ attitudes about painting wood hasn’t changed much. Every day paint salespeople hear, “my husband doesn’t like painted wood,” or “why did we put in oak trim if we’re just going to paint it?”

If you are on the fence about painting wood, the before and after images in this article from The Decorologist might make you change your mind. At the very least, this read is good for a laugh.

Just maybe, this will be the year that you take a fresh coat of paint to that wood-like material in your basement or dated 1970s wood furniture.
